In case you couldn’t tell I’m totally unhappy with my AT&T service and no it’s not because of the random dropped call or the holes in coverage. A dropped call every now and then doesn’t bother me. What I’m mad about is the new Hot Spot option for the iPhone 4.
Friday I stood in line to get the iPad2 (it wasn’t super long and I may have left work a little early to get it, but that’s another post), I opted for the 16GB Wi-Fi option because I knew they just launched the new Hot Spot with the 4.3 OS and I would just be able to tether my phone to iPad. It is the perfect solution and I couldn’t wait to give it a try.
So this morning, I downloaded the new OS for my iPhone and was prompted to call AT&T to set up this amazing new feature (one the several other smart phones already have) and what do I find out.
I CAN’T DO IT WITH MY PLAN!
I’ve been a “loyal” AT&T customer since 2000, you know back in the day when it was Cingular service. And now they are forcing me to give up my UNLIMITED DATA just to use the new Hot Spot service. So basically what they are saying is who cares that you have been a loyal customer, who cares that you put up with the random holes in coverage from one side of the street to another.
We want everyone off of their “UNLIMITED PLAN” and put them all on a ridiculous limited plan so they can stick us with high rates and jack us for more money when we accidentally go over the limit. And they’re going to do that by adding new services but refusing to let us in on them so they can charge us more and give us less.
Really, that’s how you treat your “loyal customers”?
