It was a time juggling act but I was finally able to catch up with Kellie Hartwell of Mobile Deluxe for a quick phone interview. I used my new Skype headset, Skype and Pamela for this interview.
Kellie Hartwell is Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at Mobile Deluxe a casual game company based in Santa Monica, CA. She and her husband starting the business over 8 years ago in their condo and it has blossomed into a great business with several employers and great some really great casual games.
I was introduced to Kellie after reviewing the Bliss iPhone App last month for Breast Cancer Awareness. It’s the only game that I know of and play that truly gives back to the community, which makes it easier to sneak away from mommyhood and play for a few minutes.
Kellie is also a busy mom balancing work and a family and she manages it all by scheduling everything and having a good attitude. But she warns that scheduling isn’t everything you need to have a good perspective as well as a good attitude in order to be happy and have balance.
I love her passion about the need to redefine the American work day. She and I both believe that Americans spend so much time working they don’t have time to enjoy life and mother’s especially have a difficult time trying to balance a heavy work load and care for a family.
Moms and caregivers shouldn’t feel guilty for spending time with their kids. She thinks it would be great if Corporate America would practice a flexible workplace allowing people to adjust their schedule and telecommute.
Take a listen to our interview below. For some reason the last question cut off, not sure why.
