My husband used to hate that I would buy so many purses, I used to have one for every possible occasion and as time grew on I narrowed it down to buying a new purse every year for my birthday (which is coming up honey, who am I kidding he doesn’t read my blog), I don’t even remember the last year I bought one. It was a Lucky black leather hobo and I loved it. That is until I got my DSLR…
I tried to get inserts to put in my Lucky hobo, but my camera collection quickly grew into lenses, flash and accessories and that little bag just wasn’t enough. Plus I hated carrying all the equipment without a decent amount of protection.
So what happened the purse addiction I once had, has truly transformed into a camera bag addiction. But it isn’t just any camera bag, they have to be stylish, practical and really feel and look like a purse. I take my camera everywhere but I would rather not EVERYONE know I’m armed with a DSLR.
So today I wanted to share with you a new stylish DSLR camera bag designer POMPIDOO. If you are looking for a leather purse like camera bag then be sure to check out their product line.
There are many stylish camera bags out there but few of them are made with genuine leather, the POMPIDOO is and you can sense it the minute you open the box. They offer some tips on their site about how to care for the leather.
At first glance, you can see the expert detailing and quality that was put into the camera bag. The interior is sufficiently padded with a black patterned lining. The bag comes with thee removable/adjustable dividers that make it easy to customize the bag for your needs.
My absolute favorite feature of the bag, there is a space for my iPad!
Since this bag looks and feels like a purse it’s perfect for those days out with the kids, or out to dinner with friends. While it most likely won’t fit ALL of year gear, it’s perfect if you just want to grab your camera a lens and the rest of your purse necessities.
Here is what I was able to fit in the bag, without feeling weighed down.
Canon 50D with 28-755mm Tamron attached, Canon 50mm lens, 430ex flash, iPad, Boogie wipes (for kids), wallet, keys, and glasses, and phone. I didn’t use the outside pockets but could have easily slipped in a few filters, extra batteries and memory cards.
Did I mention I love that my iPad fits in the bag?
Another thing I love about this camera bag it that it sits upright so you don’t have to worry about it tipping over and spilling out some of year gear. It even has those little feet at the bottom to base when resting it on the ground. If you take the bag with you on a shoot you’ll be happy to know that you can easily switch out lenses. You can also even use this bag as a shooters bag by wearing your camera and storing at least 4 lenses, 3 if you have a flash.
POMPIDOO just released some bright new colors so be sure to check out their website www.pompidoo.com.
